Agreement & Acceptance
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the website vancouverpacificplumbing.ca and your engagement of plumbing and related services provided by Vancouver Pacific Plumbing (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a licensed plumbing contractor operating in Vancouver and Greater Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
By accessing our website, submitting a service request, accepting a quote, or permitting us to perform work at your property, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or engage our services.
These Terms, together with any written service agreement or invoice issued to you, constitute the entire agreement between you and Vancouver Pacific Plumbing with respect to the services described therein.
Definitions
“Client” / “You”The individual, household, or business entity requesting or receiving services from Vancouver Pacific Plumbing.”Services”All plumbing, drainage, gas, heating, and related work performed by Vancouver Pacific Plumbing, whether residential or commercial.”Quote” / “Estimate”A written or verbal price indication provided before work commences, subject to the conditions in Section 4.”Work Order”A written agreement (including a signed invoice or service authorization) documenting the scope of Services to be performed.”Site” / “Property”The physical location at which Services are rendered.”Website”The website located at vancouverpacificplumbing.ca and all associated pages.
Services Offered
Vancouver Pacific Plumbing provides a comprehensive range of licensed plumbing services across the Vancouver area, including but not limited to:
- Emergency plumbing repairs (burst pipes, leaks, blocked drains)
- Drain cleaning and hydro-jetting
- Water heater installation, repair, and replacement (tank and tankless)
- Toilet, faucet, and fixture installation and repair
- Bathroom and kitchen plumbing for renovations and new construction
- Sewer line inspection, repair, and replacement
- Backflow prevention testing and installation
- Gas line work (performed by licensed gas fitters as required by BC Safety Authority)
- Pipe repiping and water main services
- Commercial and strata plumbing services
All work is performed by licensed journeyman plumbers or apprentices under proper supervision, in accordance with the BC Safety Authority and applicable British Columbia building codes and standards.
Quotes & Estimates
All quotes and estimates provided by Vancouver Pacific Plumbing are subject to the following conditions:
- Quotes are based on information available at the time of assessment. If unforeseen conditions are discovered once work commences (e.g., hidden pipe damage, asbestos, mold, or non-standard construction), we will notify you before proceeding and revise the quote accordingly.
- Verbal estimates are approximations only and do not constitute a binding price.
- All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are inclusive of applicable GST unless otherwise specified.
- Acceptance of a quote constitutes your authorization to proceed with the described Services.
- Emergency call-out fees and after-hours surcharges will be disclosed prior to dispatch.
Scheduling & Site Access
To enable us to perform Services safely and effectively, you agree to:
- Provide accurate access to the property and relevant plumbing areas at the scheduled time
- Ensure a responsible adult (18+) is present or has authorized access to the property
- Disclose any known hazards, pre-existing damage, or special conditions relevant to the work
- Ensure pets are secured and the work area is reasonably clear
- Notify us promptly if you need to reschedule (see Section 9)
We will make reasonable efforts to arrive within the agreed appointment window. We are not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, prior job overruns, or other circumstances beyond our control, though we will communicate any significant delays.
If we are unable to access the property at the scheduled time due to circumstances within your control, a missed appointment fee may apply (see Section 9).
Payment Terms
Residential clients: Payment is due upon completion of Services unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept cash, e-transfer, and major credit cards. A receipt will be issued for all payments.
Commercial and strata clients: Net-30 payment terms may be available upon credit approval. Invoices not paid within the agreed terms may be subject to a late payment charge of 1.5% per month (18% per annum) on outstanding balances.
Deposits: For larger projects, a deposit of up to 50% of the estimated project cost may be required before work commences. Deposit terms will be specified in the Work Order.
- All prices are in CAD and include applicable GST (5%) and PST where applicable under BC law
- Returned cheques or failed electronic payments are subject to a $40 administration fee
- Unpaid accounts may be referred to collections; you agree to reimburse reasonable collection costs
- We reserve the right to place a builder’s lien on a property in accordance with BC’s Builders Lien Act for unpaid Services
Warranty & Guarantee
Vancouver Pacific Plumbing stands behind its work. Unless otherwise specified in your Work Order:
- Labour warranty: 1 year on workmanship from the date of service completion
- Parts and materials: Subject to the manufacturer’s warranty, which we will facilitate where applicable
- Emergency/temporary repairs: Warranty coverage is limited and will be noted on the invoice
Warranty claims must be submitted in writing within the warranty period. Warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, unauthorized modifications, failure to maintain, pre-existing conditions unrelated to our work, or acts of God (e.g., flooding, earthquake).
To make a warranty claim, contact us with your original invoice number, a description of the issue, and photos if applicable. We will schedule a return visit at no labour cost if the issue is covered under warranty.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by British Columbia law:
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising from Services shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the specific Services giving rise to the claim.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of use, loss of income, or property damage beyond the immediate scope of the plumbing issue we were engaged to address).
- We are not liable for damage caused by pre-existing conditions in your plumbing or property that were not disclosed to us and were not reasonably discoverable through visual inspection.
- We are not responsible for damage resulting from your failure to disclose relevant information about the property or plumbing system.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Vancouver Pacific Plumbing carries commercial general liability insurance and WorkSafeBC coverage. Proof of insurance is available upon request.
Cancellations & Changes
Cancellation by client:
- Cancellations made 24+ hours before a scheduled appointment: no charge
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a scheduled appointment: a cancellation fee of $75 + GST may apply
- No-shows or failure to provide access at the scheduled time: a missed appointment fee of $100 + GST may apply
- For emergency/same-day bookings, cancellations must be made at least 2 hours before dispatch to avoid a fee
Changes to scope of work: Any changes to the agreed scope of Services must be agreed upon in writing before additional work is performed. We will provide a revised quote for scope additions.
Cancellation by Vancouver Pacific Plumbing: We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments due to emergencies, staff unavailability, or weather. We will provide as much notice as possible and will reschedule at your earliest convenience.
Intellectual Property
All content on the Vancouver Pacific Plumbing website, including text, logos, images, graphics, and layout, is the property of Vancouver Pacific Plumbing and is protected by Canadian copyright law.
You may not reproduce, distribute, publish, or create derivative works from any website content without our prior written consent. You may print or download website content for your personal, non-commercial use only.
The Vancouver Pacific Plumbing name, logo, and associated marks are trademarks of the Company. Unauthorized use is prohibited.
Dispute Resolution
We are committed to resolving any concerns you may have. If you are dissatisfied with our Services or have a billing dispute, please follow this process:
- Contact us directly in writing within 30 days of the service date, describing the issue clearly. We will respond within 5 business days.
- If not resolved to your satisfaction, we will escalate the matter to a senior member of our team within 10 business days.
- If resolution is still not reached, either party may refer the dispute to mediation through a mutually agreed mediator in the Province of British Columbia.
- Legal proceedings, if required, shall be conducted in the courts of British Columbia.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the applicable laws of Canada. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Amendments
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time.
Continued use of our website or Services following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. For material changes, we will provide notice on our website.
If you have a signed Work Order, the Terms in effect at the time of signing will govern that specific engagement unless you agree in writing to updated Terms.
